About Blue Corner

Blue Corner is a drop-off off Nusa Lembongan, dived as a fast drift along the wall with a terrace at about 20 metres. Strong, changeable currents and cold upwellings make it one of the area's best mola mola sites in season, and a dive for experienced divers only.

Blue Corner lies off Nusa Lembongan, where the reef falls away from a terrace at about 20 metres into deep water, with an overhang reaching around 25 metres. It is dived as a drift along the drop-off, usually ending on a plateau where whitetip reef sharks and turtles rest.

The same deep water that makes it exciting makes it demanding. The current here is strong and can change speed and direction quickly, including downcurrents, and cold upwellings sometimes drop the water below 20°C. Those upwellings are what bring mola mola up from the deep, and from July to October Blue Corner is one of the best places around Nusa Penida to see them.

It is not a site for beginners. Dive centres take advanced divers comfortable in strong current, and only when the conditions are right.
