About Mangrove Point

Mangrove Point is a gentle drift off the north-east tip of Nusa Lembongan, in front of the mangrove forest. A wide shallow plateau steps down a coral slope full of Acropora, sponges and soft corals, with turtles and ribbon eels.

Mangrove Point lies off the north-east tip of Nusa Lembongan, in front of the island's mangrove forest, and the dive usually starts facing the mangroves above the plateau.

The plateau is wide and shallow, and the reef steps down so it is easy to control your depth. Nutrients from the forest feed a dense mix of branching Acropora, big sponges and soft corals. At the far end there are coral heads and small sandy valleys, with titan triggerfish and big barracuda.

It is usually a drift, and on some tides you only cover half the site in an hour. Bali Aqua uses it for the PADI Drift Diver specialty, World Diving picks it for ribbon eels, and it is a popular snorkelling spot.
