About Toyapakeh

Toyapakeh is a drift dive off the harbour village of the same name on Nusa Penida's northwest coast, along a wall known for some of the area's best hard coral, big sea fans and schooling fish. Giant trevally, turtles and mola mola in season pass by.

Toyapakeh lies right in front of the harbour village of the same name on Nusa Penida's northwest coast, a couple of minutes by boat. It is dived as a drift along a wall from about 5 to 40 metres, and it has some of the best hard coral cover around Nusa Penida, with large gorgonian sea fans among the hard and soft corals.

The reef is busy: big schools of fish, giant trevally, turtles and marble rays, and pygmy seahorses for those who look closely. Between July and October lucky divers meet a mola mola. Depending on the current, the drift heads towards Gamat Bay along the wall or towards SD Point over gardens of staghorn coral.

The current is usually mild to moderate but can be strong and unpredictable, so dive centres often time the dive for high tide. It suits divers comfortable drifting.
