About Lembongan Bay

Lembongan Bay, also called the Pontoon, is the sheltered bay on Nusa Lembongan's north-west coast. A sandy bottom with bommies and statues at 3 to 18 m makes it the island's training and night dive site.

Lembongan Bay is the shallow, sheltered bay on Nusa Lembongan's north-west coast, where the day-trip snorkel pontoons are moored, which is why shops also call it the Pontoon. It is a few minutes by boat from the dive shops on the beach.

The bottom is sand with coral bommies and rocky outcrops, statues in the shallows and very large bommies deeper in the bay. With almost no current, it is where many shops run the first dive of Open Water and buoyancy and fish identification specialties.

At night Scuba Center Asia finds bobtail squid, big crabs, sleeping parrotfish, juvenile octopus and peacock flounder. Several shops hold clean-up dives here, since the pontoon trade leaves litter.
