About Nudi Falls

Nudi Falls is a Lembeh Strait dive on the mainland side, just north of the village of Tandu Rusa, combining a shallow mini wall with a rubble slope. It is known for nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and soft corals, down to about 25 metres.

The name comes from a guides' story: exhaled bubbles knock nudibranchs off the wall above, and they drift down past the divers below. It fits one of the best nudibranch sites in a strait already known for them.

In the late morning, sunlight filters through overhanging trees onto the mini wall. Below it a sandy slope and a rubble patch give way to a soft coral field from about 20 metres down to 25. Alongside the nudibranchs, divers regularly find pygmy seahorses, frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue ringed and wonderpus octopus, and garden eels.

The site sits in an exposed part of the strait, so currents pick up at times. It is also counted among the best night dives in Lembeh.
