About Arborek Jetty

Arborek Jetty is a shallow dive under the village jetty on Arborek, a small island in the Dampier Strait. Soft corals and sponges cover the pilings, huge schools of fish shelter beneath, and coral gardens around it hold pipefish, snappers and bumphead parrotfish.

Arborek is a small village island in the Dampier Strait, and its jetty is one of Raja Ampat's best known shallow dives. Soft corals and sponges grow over the pilings, and huge schools of small fish hang in the shade beneath, with sweetlips and other larger fish among them.

Around the jetty, coral gardens run out to about 18 metres, busy with pipefish, snappers and bumphead parrotfish. It is an easy dive for any level, and a popular night dive, though the current can still pick up off the end of the jetty. Many trips combine it with a walk through the village above.
