About Nusa Tiga

Nusa Tiga is a sheltered dive site off the southeast coast of Lombok. Its name means three islands, which are joined by shallow sandbanks and beaches, and it has two main areas: Nusa Tiga East and Nusa Tiga West.

Nusa Tiga East has a shallow plateau stretching 400 metres, with hard and soft corals, and a gentle rubble slope down to 22 metres. The rubble is home to blue ring octopus, poison ocellate octopus, seahorses, pipefish, decorator crabs, rhinopias, flatworms, nudibranchs and frogfish. Mobula rays sometimes pass.

At its northern point, Nusa Tiga West has a steep rock face with a large colony of tube coral, plus soft corals, sand patches and staghorn coral that are good for critter hunting. This side is mostly protected from current, which suits beginners.

The reefs are in mixed condition, but the critters and the sheltered water have made it a favourite with local guides for macro diving. With luck you also see black tip reef sharks and green sea turtles.
