Dive Center Description
Ambon Blue Rose Divers has worked out of Laha, on the northern shore of Ambon Bay, since 2007. The shop sits close to Pattimura Airport, so divers can reach the water soon after landing. Its guides dive the muck slopes that begin almost at the doorstep, and they also run day trips around the island to wall and cave sites. The team is known for macro work, and the Ambon frogfish is the species that brings underwater photographers to this coast.
Regular trips go to Pintu Kota, where an archway at about 15 metres is covered in sea fans, and to Hukurila Cave, a reef chimney on the south coast with three exits at its base. The bay sites at Laha hold frogfish, ghost pipefish, mandarinfish and unusual octopus on dark rubble.
