About Marsha Reef

Marsha Reef is an island reef on the Sumbawa side of the Alas Strait, dived from Lombok, with a coral plateau on its lee side and steep walls on the current line.

Marsha Reef spreads out from Marsha Wall on the same island, on the Sumbawa side of the Alas Strait, reached by speedboat from Telong Elong in southeast Lombok. On a rising tide the lee side offers a plateau of hard and soft coral, sheltered from the current.

Closer to the island's edge, toward the current line, the reef turns into steep walls. Skipjack tuna and mackerel pass here, and a blue marlin has been seen here. Above the water, sea eagles soar over the forested island.
