About Macro Bay

Macro Bay is a muck dive near Pink Beach on Lombok's southeast coast, 3 to 30 metres, with ghost pipefish, leaf scorpionfish, rhinopias and visiting cownose rays.

Macro Bay lies near Pink Beach on the southeast coast of Lombok and links on to Dave's Place. The bay has its own beach, reached only on foot or by boat, and three permanent moorings keep boats from anchoring on the reef.

Pipefish hide under ledges, ghost pipefish blend into crinoids, and juvenile catfish school with razorfish in the shallows. Nudibranchs and shrimps are everywhere. A ridge in the bay holds spiny fish: twinspot lionfish, leaf scorpionfish, stonefish, devilfish and even rhinopias. A school of cownose rays visits often, and bommies with glassfish and soft coral make the shallows good for snorkelling too.
