About Sharks Galore

Sharks Galore is a drift dive along the east coast of Pura Island in the Alor Pantar Strait, known for grey reef and whitetip sharks and dogtooth tuna. Sightings are less reliable than they once were, and drifts often end at Clown Valley next door.

Sharks Galore runs along the eastern coast of Pura Island, in the Alor Pantar Strait. It is dived as a drift from the boat, usually a gentler one than the strait's wilder sites, over a reef dotted with anemones. The dive often finishes at Clown Valley, the next site along.

The name comes from the grey reef sharks seen here, with whitetip reef sharks and dogtooth tuna also passing through. Recent reports suggest the sharks are not as reliable as they once were, and some divers have seen none, so treat them as a bonus rather than a promise.
