The Canyon

The Canyon, known locally as Pantee Aneuk Sueke, is Pulau Weh’s most famous dive site, off the island’s northwestern coast. It is a topography dive: a huge weathered boulder split by deep crevasses that divers swim through, finishing under a natural arch.

Hundreds of gorgonian fan corals line the openings, and the seaward wall drops to 45 metres. Expect bannerfish, barracuda, trevally, snappers, octopus, nudibranchs, turtles and rays, with occasional zebra sharks and mola mola.
