Nudi Falls

Nudi Falls sits roughly in the middle of the Lembeh Strait on the mainland side, just north of the village of Tandu Rusa. Its name comes from a local diving legend: guides say that exhaled bubbles dislodge nudibranchs from the wall above, sending them drifting down past divers below, a fitting story for one of the best nudibranch sites in a strait already famous for them.

The site combines a shallow mini-wall, lit by sunlight filtering through overhanging trees in the late morning, with a sandy slope and a rubble patch that gives way to a soft coral field from about 20 metres down to a maximum depth of 25 metres. Its exposed position in the strait means currents pick up at times. Alongside the site's namesake nudibranchs, divers regularly find pygmy seahorses, frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed and wonderpus octopus, and garden eels, and it is also considered one of the best night dives in Lembeh.
