Makasar Reef, commonly known as Manta Point, is the longest and one of the most famous dive sites within Komodo National Park. Stretching over 2.5 kilometers, this shallow reef features a mostly flat bottom with areas of gently sloping coral formations and sandy patches. It is a renowned cleaning station for manta rays, which can be spotted here year-round, often in groups ranging from 3 up to 30 or more. The site offers a relatively easy drift dive with medium currents, making it suitable for beginner to advanced divers. Besides mantas, you might encounter turtles, reef sharks, eagle rays, giant trevallies, and a variety of tropical reef fish.
